Howell New Jersey – August 1, 2009- Former New York Mets and New York Yankees great Darryl Strawberry will appear at Jackson Memorial High School, in Jackson New Jersey, on Sunday, September 13 at      1:00 p.m.  Mr. Strawberry will speak, answer questions from the audience, and sign autographs.  “Darryl Strawberry will speak beginning at 1:00 p.m.,” said Glenn Cantor, Fundraising Co-Chairperson for Congregation Ahavat Olam.  “He will talk about his storied Major League Baseball career with both the New York Mets and New York Yankees.  Additionally, Mr. Strawberry will address the high’s, low’s, and lessons of hope and survival he has learned in overcoming well-chronicled, personal challenges.” Strawberry hit 335 Home Runs and 1,000 RBI’s during Major League Baseball career.  An 8-time All-Star and 4-time World Series champion, Strawberry played with the New York Mets from 1983 to 1990 and the New York Yankees from 1995 to 1999.  With the Mets, he won Rookie of the Year in 1983 and played on their last World Series championship team in 1986.  Strawberry recently authored his biography, entitled “Straw: Finding My Way,” which was released in Hardcover on April 28, 2009
