I have had quite a few people in the recent past ask me quot;Jason...what the hell happened to me...quot; in regards to their weight and their health. I'll be brutally honest--you got lazy and paid the price for it. You ate too many fatty foods, you picked up the remote control in stead of going for a walk, you opted for your favorite television programs or your favorite internet sites instead of what you did ten years ago. Instead of pushing the lawn mower--you bought that zero turn beast and just plain ol' got lazy as hell. br /
br /
Sure, you can blame it on wedding cake, the sex that followed the wedding cake, kids, losing your job, being older, etc. The sheer fact is you are lazy--and paying the consequences. br /
br /
Today at the bike shop at work, I heard a song that reminded me of times with my late friend Nick. He died before he was 40 due to cancer. And today, I vowed I would challenge all you lazy asses out there to get off your asses and take care of your bodies. Challenge you to get back to what you were ten years ago. br /
br /
I have a funny body. I have tan lines from cycling jerseys and cycling shorts. I have the strangest farmer's tan you have ever seen. I have shaved legs. I have no chest. I have a huge ass, thighs and calves though from cycling. Totally odd-but totally healthy and strong. I am 40 but get carded for beer when I buy it as I look and live young. If Sara is not here and I am not on the phone with Yuki--I am on my bike training for hours at a time busting my ass to win another race. br /
br /
I live strong.br /
br /
The whole idea about Livestrong is not just battling cancer--it is a way of life. A way of living. A way of battling obstacles, living healthy, taking on challenges, putting down the remote and computer and getting out there and taking care of the one body you have in this life. br /
br /
So I am challenging you to livestrong. I am challenging you to stop watching your favorite tv shows, turn off the PC, lace up your shoes and go for a walk or run. Push a mower when you cut your grass instead of ride it. br /
br /
And if you are lucky enough to own a bike like me--get on it and ride it like you stole it. br /

pToday, while biking home from work, Jarren found these two in a dumpster. They were meowing, with no food, water or way to get out. Apparently there was a sign that said quot;Freequot;. I'm so angry about the whole thing I can't even fucking stand it. But we brought them home. At this point I can't decide if we'll keep them (as outdoor kitties), try to find homes for them, or find a humane society that doesn't charge to take them in. They are absolutely adorable and two little bundles of love already. I really want to find a home for them together because they can't stand to be more than a few feet apart, but yeah. I would love any advice.br /
br /
I know they both have worms (which is not unusual), so I might buy some worming medecine for them, just so they're a little more comfortable. Until then, though, we'll feed and love them.br /
